Dual carbs

Both carbs on my motor are edelbrock 1404s, both have air fuel adjusting screws. Do I need to have the screws on the back carb adjusted or can I screw them in all the way and take out the air fuel function on that carb?

Use them on both carbs. Hard to get to the rear ones, but doable.

Any adjustments on the rear carb is mirrored on my front carb. Air bleeds as well as curb idle.
