I have already applied Duramax to the front door skins and the rear quarters on each side but, after doing so I am wondering if this is the right thing to do.Will the Duramax provide an enviroment causing the metal to retain moisture and therefore
rot out my panels? Has anyone done this? What were your results?

John:

Sorry to report that I do not know what "Duramax" is, but I'm interested in knowing more. Is it some sort of rust preventative, like POR?

Best,

Hi Tom;
Duramax is a sound deadening system. It comes on a roll of about 30'
with a peelable backing and you adhere it to whatever surface you want. It appears to be a rubber product that also helps in heat control.

Aha!

Thanks for the explanation. Haven't used it. I am using some sort of sound deadening thick rubber Phil Reed recommended, but that is for the floor boards under the carpeting (as I understand it).

I figure the sound of the engine will more than compensate for any sound deadener I put in the doors or floors :).

Best,
TomK
