I am beginning to wonder what is going on with the right rear wheel cylinders on these early muscle cars. I have 2 61's and a 62 and all of the right real wheel cylinders of these Chevy's leak. A friend has the same years Pontiacs and same issues. Are these cars "possessed" or is there a logical explanation someone can think of

Being the furthest from the master cylinder must have something to do with it, but what?

That is an interesting thought about residues in the system but.... the left rear rarely has a problem and like everyone else since my first brake job so many years ago I was taught to bleed right rear first as was “furtherest” from the master cylinder but... I believe the 61 Chevrolet manual says left rear bleed before the right rear:dunno:scratch
Now where does this take us?

Oh, did I tell you all how much I dislike brake work?

Yep is correct as observing how 61&62 brake lines are routed the left rear has a bit more total brake line length than the right. But still doesn’t explain why right rear cylinder appears to go first.
