I made progress today block is cleaned painted and cleared. For now I’m just going to use the block with pistons on the deck and thinking about cutting a camshaft up to use the feet. I figure I can always change it later! Also don’t really have enough spare junk parts to do a complete motor look yet.View attachment 62255

I was thinking, why is he making a table out of a 409 block? Wouldn’t a 348 work just as well? Then I saw this pic;) I get it now haha. Good idea it’ll make some eye candy in the house.

It’s not so much the side crack that is the issue with this block it’s the crack in #1 cylinder that runs from top to bottom and kinda y’s out and runs to one of the head bolts. You can see the crack going to the head bolt in the last picture.
