i am stupid when it comes to most engines. but why and how does a diesel run backwords. jim

Runaway was a big concern in the engine room of the ship I was on in 63. We weren't allowed to use gasoline in the engine room for any reason. Those two giant Cooper-Bessemers took up most of the space so there was no place to hide or get away from them.
