I've always thought 63 and 64 were same unit with different dash controls. 64 being a wheel on top of dash and 63 a knob under dash. The 63 accessories installation manual shows that 63 brain mounted to the engine on v8, frame on 6cyl so I guess I've thought wrong all these years
Attached are some pictures from the manual and part number matches yours. I have some of these but have not unboxed them to check.

According to the 1962 Accessories Installation Reference Manual the part numbers for a 62 cruise control are 988451 and 988452

I always knew that 63 cruise was a thumbwheel on top of the dash, but it appears that a "Basic" cruise for 63 which has this part number 985521 has a lower dash mounted knob the same as a 62. Anyone seen one of these before?

They mount on the left of the column not the right side. Only seen one in person and its still setting in the same bushes. One day you boys will figure what they are worth and ill decide if it's worth my time to go spend my time pulling it.

I have one the spot lights. I bought it from a friend a few years ago.
It has GE on the glass and has a brown wire and plug for the lighter.
It has a recangular folding wire to hang it from something.
I have not tested it.

These are pics from a 64 SS car Phil knew, its in a collection in Nfld. It is stated to have every factory option, here is a pic of the cruise on this car, the control is on the left of the wheel. I forget how few miles it has, in the 2000-3000 range, never been restored. In the background is a 57 and 58 Pontiac, both fuelies.

I would love to have one for my 1962, and if I found a NOS unit, I might reach a bit further. They don't put traveler checks into caskets, or a wallet in your back pocket, so you might as well enjoy your toys while you are able to. Besides, the world is going to end in 12 years so what's the use in saving your money! :poke
