Fuel gauge float leaking, what can I do? 60 Impala?

I think this is my forth time trying to address this issue. One float recommended here was a Ford bulb that I bought at the part counter at a Ford dealer. They must all be made from the same porous brass rolled stock in China.

I'm thinking a plastic float might be the solution, but which and where?? It's a chore to keep running to the gas station that sells non-corn premium for a top up, and no small feat to be repeatedly changing the float.

Can you help me??

This is the float i got from amazon. #omix-ada17729.01 They list as ford ,mopar, jeep .It fit perfectly and my fuel gauge work's as should now. You can get on ebay too.
