That was my problem and it's not an easy fix.
I was running a pair of 625 Carters with Ronnie's recipe as I used them on the 409. Got me to fast with a wounded stroke.

Beautiful car and lined up next to all those fast “muscle” cars, you could make a lot of money on the street. Since anything faster would have a roll cage?
Only ever saw one 1960 Impala sport coupe around here and it was sold to a fellow in Ontario.
