Thanks to Don J.. It first seemed like it would be an easy swap, but when I noticed the starter for the 348 bolted to the bellhousing and the 409 starter bolted to the block???? When Tom K. asked "if I could" post some pictures I smiled, he must know me, I have no idea how to post some pictures. But I will try to figure it out. Thanks to everyone.

Should have staggered bolt holes....right?
I have a mini starter on my 348 with auto staggered bolt pattern to the block, and 168 teeth flex plate.

If you're swapping from a 348 to a 409,just transfer all the parts,starter,belhousing,and everything else from the 348 to the 409 and be done with it..Even my earlier 348 blocks have the provisions for the block mounted starter that was never used,but could be.
