Hey guys,
Not to far from ordering push rods for my 340 h.p. 409 build... What about the oem 5/16" push rods at s.c's ?? or step up.... will be using 817 heads w/screw in studs.. and what about guide plates ???
Thanks, Steve

I use Manley 5/16 at a custom length. I don't think stock are going to hold up to added spring pressure and they are not hardened for guide plates.

I am using the Isky 3105-D springs with stock pushrods, no guide plates, since 2004. No problems, but rarely ever go over 5000 rpm. Mostly stock build except for a little more cam.
