Harbor Freight Throatless Shear

I see the same thing on many items. These places buy from China like the rest. Sometimes they have the items painted or decorated to their specs by the maker but it's the same product! I've seen it with mini lathes, sand blast cabinets, etc.

I know I never paid $199.00 for mine years ago. You suppose the tarrif's are causing these higher prices,. Trump said no, what say you Bob.:D

Probably so. I know one site where they sell mini lathes mentions the price increases being due to the tarrifs. I believe the cost of metal is up some too. And I heard the price of scrap metal is really DOWN.

Supposedly it will do more good in the long run so we'll see.

I just did some checking because the difference in appearance was bothering me. How could both of these do the same thing I was thinking?

Turns out, the style that Woodward & Eastwood sells mentions only cutting straight lines. https://www.eastwood.com/8-in-bench-shear.html

The shape of the H.F. shear is designed to allow the material to rotate around. You could come in from a side and cut a circle out of the center of sheet if you wanted. (I think so anyway)

So they are 2 different animals. :D

And that B3 job for $870 looks EXACTLY like the H.F. unit! I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't from the same ware house in China!
