After his 409 Hayden Proffitt had a car called Heavenly Comet (?Mercury Comet) I had the privilege of racing him at Carlsbad raceway with my 65 Impala SS 396 425 hp back in 65 did a hole shot on him but lost

I believe that picture is at indy in 87 or 88. I remember seeing Hayden there too. I believe he was the grand Marshall of the parade in that car too

Hayden was at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis Texas many years ago and had a table set up for a meet and greet. He had a bunch of original GM HP intake valves that he was selling for $7.00 each. He gave time to anyone who stopped by and answered all questions. A classy guy.
