Head bolts.

Hello everyone. I’m getting ready to send motor off to machine shop. I’m gathering all the parts needed and I’m trying it make sure I have to correct bolts. My problem was that I wasn’t the one who too the engine apart. It appears that I need 32 head bolts but does anyone know the lengths. Here are the bolts I have in the first picture I’ve determined that the short bolt on he far right is the main cap bolts but how about the rest? Thanks in advance again

You need 36 head bolts not 32, the 409 is the only Chevrolet V8 to use a 6 bolt pattern.

The LS engines also have a 6 bolt pattern and I forgot to mention the 348, I should have said the W engine.

I think I figured out the bolts. The first picture. The outside bolts are both main caps the longer ones are for the windage tray. And the bolts closer to the ruler are the longer and shorter head bolts. The second picture are ARP main cap bolts.

Ok you should have 4 windage tray main cap bolts. That other double ended bolt looks like a water pump bolt for the battery ground cable.
