Headlight Operation

On a 1962 Biscayne, do all four headlights operate under high beam operation? Or do the low beams shut off during high beam operation?

All four will be on for high beams.

All 4 should be on with high beam. Parking lights go off.

All 4 will be on ,but the low beam side of the high / low (the out side headlight) will go off.

Thanks for the responses. I was just checking to make sure. The low beams on my car shut off when you switch to high beams so it looks like I have a wiring problem.

Or the low beam elements are bad in both headlights. Use a test light and check for power at both headlight plugs, high and low beam terminals and check for good grounds at the ground terminals.

Check your dimmer switch if you haven't already.

The Low beams are a dual filament, make sure the plug connections are correct, you will have 2 positive connections and a negative (common)

Grounds ( not coffee) are a killer when dealing with headlights. Check that first before moving on to the other (as above)!
