Are you sure the last three digits aren't 586

number on heads, is correct, reason i was asking this is we looked it up and gave us a 348"small block" v-348 was what was listed, we had never heard of such a thing, turns out to be a 283, but still what is a v-348 and listed undersmall block. thanks for youre reply

According to Mortec, your number is 63-65 283........ Sounds like the source you used is unfamiliar with chevy engines.
