That block you had. If the lifter bore geometry was not right and you could not keep a cam in it, were on earth did it come from? Why wasn't it scraped back in the 60s? Did this block ever live between the fenderwells of a ground pounding SS? If it did how did the people at GM keep it from eating cams? How would they break the cam in? :eek:

Yes that engine ran untill it looked like it had a bazillion mile on it !! Don`t know how it lasted,,,,,
Just a guess,,,but maybe with the crappy stock cam and springs it would work ,,but when you add spring pressure and more lift it pushes it over the limit. DON`T KNOW <<<<
What I do know is it ate two good cams and lifters then with the new roller cam it pulled the cam gear into the block,,,,as in cam walk.
Used a different block same cam and no problems.....dq
