hmmmm I don't know if this is the right place to post
but I'll try --- I also know I'm not the fastest here , of course ---- but for sure some you can help me out ---- and yes it's "newbie" question ---- I'm running my roadster on the quatermile last weekend - no glu or something like that - so there was NO traction - it was hard for me to get some traktion the first 60 feet - ok -I'm running those ugly hurst slicks, but I like em (it's the style I like not the traktion)
ok - my setup is -- a zz4 engine (355hp) with a little shot of nitro (only end of 1st and the whole of 2nd gear) - my tranny is a good th350 without a shift kit and my rearend is 2.56:1 ratio ---- ooohh yea reeeeeaaally long -- run 12.8@111mph
ok - here's my question -- what do you think I should change to go faster--- and once again -- sorry for my bad english!!!

Cool videos, and very cool car!:beerbang You MPH numbers indicate that you're making enough horsepower to run high elevens or low twelves with good traction.:deal Lower gearing, like about 4.11 or 4.56 and better slicks would probably get you there, but the car looks and goes great just the way it is. If you use this car mostly on the street, you've got to figure out if it's worth giving up fuel economy to go faster.:scratch

What Jim said plus if you are going to keep the look of those HARD RUBBER tires you will forever be burning rubber off the line no matter what gears you have.

You lower your gears and you will even have more trouble !!!!

Try and lower you air pressure and see if that helps.

Those old style tires do not hook very well. watch the old drag races and you will see that the cars launch just like you do,,,

Get some good NEW style slicks and paint on the white walls and you will get the look plus the traction you want.
You might even see light under the front tires !!! :) ,,dq

Yeah, completely agree with dq on both the gear and lowering the tire pressure. Don't go too low without screwing the tire to the rims though.

Loved the videos! :clap Reminds me of Cecil County when I worked there in the 60's (of course that door car was a lot newer then anything I saw in the 60's).
