High mileage 5.3 truck

Have any of you and your high mileage trucks ever replaced in tank fuel pumps?

Not in my 03 but did twice in my 89, once in my wife's 2001 Suburban. 89 Astrovan......will cut a hole in the bed with an inspection cover before I drop a tank again.

I just replaced the pump in my 04 Impala it took 15 minutes, GM put a removable plate in the upper trunk behind the seat on the drivers side. Well that seat folds down and you sit in the car to replace it, the GM bean counter probably got that guy fired who designed that.

My 99 5.3, only has 87K on it, so I will catch up to this conversation in about another 20 years. The clear coat on the truck is another thing. It looks like it has 400K on it. Someone should start a class action suit against the domestic manufacturers for the paint issues.
