Hooker Supercomp headers 348 into Elky 59

I may have missed a picture or a description... has anyone ever installed Hooker Supercomps (1 7/8" n 3") into an x-frame ?
The #2 pipe goes over the rail (passenger side) and down between the inner guard and the rail ... I am not sure if the inner
guard needs gentle cutting or brutal bending ?

Looks like some careful trimming would be the best.

Thx La, I am reluctant to cut original panels (unless rotten by rust) but one could always weld back a patch if going to original exhaust in the future.
Does anyone have a picture of the installed Hooker Supercomps fenderwell? I am particularly interested at the look of the first pipe bend connecting to the 3" header flange.

On my 62 impala, I carefully bent my inner fender away from the frame for clearance. Was not bad at all. Hopefully yours is similar.

Mark the area and pull the inner fender out. Heat the area red hot and make a tunnel for the tube. Use a piece of round tubing rather than hammering directly on the inner fender.

On my 62 I had to clearance the inner fender like you show, a little of the pinch flange at the bottom of the firewall behind the starter, and dimple the tube by my clutch z-bar. Do a search, there more than a couple mentions of "massaging" things for Hooker header fitment.

Thanks all for the feedback. I have read on here of at least a couple peeps modifying the #2 cylinder pipe to come inside the rail (instead of out), I will see if we can do it and keep you posted.
