How long have you owned your Chevy?

On this day, 26 years ago, I brought home my 63 Impala that I bought for $750 dollars. It was 1981 and I was 14. :) It's a day I'll never forget!

Now, I hope it doesn't take another 26 years to complete it. :bang At least it's garage kept now. Once I get some other things taken care of, I'll get started on the resto. (if they EVER come out with those dang rear outer wheel houses!) :grumble:

So, I'm sure some of you have me beat on years but how long have you had your Chevy? (make a list if more than 1 vehicle) :p

I bought my 64 Impala Convertible new,Sept. 1964,I was going into my senior year of high school.I had worked as an iron worker apprentice that summer vacation and made a decent amount of money,so I decided to buy a car. The car was a left over model that was stored at the owner of the Chevy dealers home,it had been used strictly for parades. My Chevy had 38 miles on it.The 1965 models were just out.Fell in love with it that night ,I really wasn't looking for a convertible, price was right, color was right and drive train was exactly what I wanted. Here it is almost 44 years later and I still love it as much as the 1st day I saw it. It was 1975 and I was 17. I still have the classified ad here somewhere. 1962 Impala SS. Red on red. 283 automatic. Sporting mid 60's ralley rims with the small centre caps. Roman Red. $750.00. Tried to save / store the car, for over 20 years...but money was scarce during all that time..and my garage had a seive for a roof. No good place to store it all those years. It rotted away. :cry

I did save some salvageable pieces though, with some having been grafted onto the White 62' SS, that I got from Alabama a few years ago. I would have liked to have kept the steering wheel from the first 62' and install that as well. Kind of a sentimental tactile thing.

The car from Alabama did not cost $750.00.

Bought my 60 Chevy in 1982 for 15 bucks and two mag rims. Has had a six, 396, 427, 402 with auto , and now a 427 w/ 4 speed. Divorced and left to raise a child on my own she never left me, unlike others:D Oh well they'll never get a ride either:roll Plus I don't think I could afford the shots to ride them again with paint costs.....

2008 will be the killer year.

Had a 1965 Impala 327 back in 1989-94. Ran a 340hp 409 in the Impala from 91-94. It was a really great car, sold it (without the 09) to finance my dream car. I have owned my 1962 Bubbletop since 1994. :cheers
