Went to the "Model T" club swap meet this morning in Sauget Il (East St Louis) and only spent $48 and that included a $5 tip to the Boy Scouts for hauling my find to the truck. Now the question. Does anyone have any idea what it's purpose in life was. The guy I got it from had had it forever. I forgot if he said he got it from his Grandpa or just the story. He said his Grandpa said it was used to cook soup for the soup lines during the depression????? Funny thing is this thing is galvanized inside & out. Heavy, 43#, 19" dia x 36" tall. Any ideas? I thought it would make a neat trash can for $20! Also was going thru some old Hot Rod's and had to have this issue.

It is cool whatever it is. Would make a great tall planter on a porch near an entry.
