Jim... that is quite the work of art.
I can only dream of having the metal working skills you are gifted with.
Not to mention the dream of having a 62 Bel-Air Bubble top with the Z-11 option.

On a technical note... is there a reason the oil fill tube can't be shortened on a 409?
Photoshop makes it look do-able.
But I was curious if it could be done in reality.
I'm sure there is something I have overlooked with that idea.

Well, I am not sure. Maybe, but there must have been some reason on the Z-11 top end, that they had the oil fill tube at the height that required the notch for the oil fill cap.:dunno Very nice photo shop work! Nice clean look.

I believe the original base was stamped one piece and the snorkel was stamped two pieces and the upper and lower halves have some type of a folded seam. The guys with the real Z11 air cleaners would know more than I. I left all of my welds untouched just to show how I put them together. I wish the welds looked better, but they are what they are.
