How about this for extortion...
You mail in your property taxes a month ahead of time. No one is around to cash your check until the day after it was due because that office was closed. They mail back your payment saying it was late and add $50 to your bill. No one picks up the phone and the office is closed till January (+$50 more). Complained to neighbors on both sides, both are having same issue.
