Installing a fuel cell

Got my self a nice steel can bladder type foam filled fuel cell and was wondering about how to properly vent it.
It has the vent tube but where do I run it or connect it to? Check valve roll over or? Does it have to be higher than the tank?

I have used this method on several race cars and come to think of it, one street car.. I use a in line PCV valve, attach fuel line to cell, install PCV so it vents the fuel tank. If you get the car top side down, the PVC closes. This is on the cheap side and it works.
