Hello from Switzerland,

I have new floor mats for my Impala. They look very good.
Dave (petepedlar) helped me to get them. Thanks again.
Seat belt buckles with the Fisher body emblem, were they common in 1964?
Let me know, please,

Franz

Franz: Your seat belts do not look familiar to me.:dunno All my 64 SS's that I owned had a round nickle size Chevy bow tie, on a body or interior color buckle. Don't know what kind of belts 64 SS's had, that were imported to Switzerland. I'll try and get a copy of the belt decal, for you.:clap

Those type seat belts were used in 65/66 for sure. See if there is a tag sewn onto the belt webbing. If so, the year is usually on it.

I don't think seat belts were too common in 64 and earlier. People lived dangerously back then. :roll

Franz: My 64' came with dealer installed seatbelts, not factory installed. As a matter fact, they were black, interior was red.My floor mats were rubber with a large coin type circle in the center(white circle)with the Chevrolet bow tie insignia made into rubber..My outside rear view mirror also was installed by dealership. That was and still is a look a like GM,but with no GM logo.I know it came that way, bought the car new at end of year of model run 1964. Hello from Switzerland :cheers

Thank you for your answers. What I learned now is that they are
'65 or '66 and many of them were dealer installed.
We bought the car when it was about 3 years old. At this time
they were already inside. So it is possible that the first owner installed
them between 1965 and 1967 or replaced the original ones because he liked the design of these buckles more.
I think I keep them because for me they are part of the car. They are okay
and the buckles still work well. Your opinion?

Have a good time,

Franz
