About 2011 my roadster had been invited to a SoCal Speed Shop sponsored car show in Hollywood. It was a hot day, we were sitting at a table outside in some shade cooling off, and Ed came by with his son, and asked us where we got the bottles of water, I grabbed them a couple from out stash, he sat down with us and talked about hot rodding and engine building for the better part of an hour. Just a cool guy, and loves what he does. Have since I have had the opportunity to talk to him 5-6 times at local gatherings. Still sharp too. Hope I am half as sharp as him when I'm am in my 80's.
