Hey Junky, try driving across Texas, in August!

I was stationed at Ft Carson Colorado in the 70's, decided to go on leave and drive home to Florida, so I mapped my route and decided too start at the tip of Texas drive south and take hwy 90 east across into Florida.

I was in Texas almost 24 hours :-( never took that route again it was Summer time.

Next trip home drove south in Colorado cut across Raton NM and what a relief in travel time.

Before I got out of the Military I was stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas is a GREAT state with great fishing, I was just lucky I never got bit by a rattle snake as most places I fished were remote :drinking

That is why the Wright brothers had the inspiration to develop a flying machine. They wanted out of North Carolina as fast as they could. That is my thoughts about Texas. I will fly there if there is any reason to go there. ;)

That's AWESOME Mark! I made it to Plymouth Mi, 425 miles in 12 hours, stopped every 60-90 mins to relieve my aching leg-cramped cab-and bladder. Got 10mpg in 1991 Ford F700 with a 6.6 (New Holland-Brazil) diesel + GMC dually 6.5 4x4 on board, towing the '09. Pretty much cruised at 40-55, that's all the 6.6 New Holland staight 6 had. I'm happy with the condition of the truck, but I would consider upgrading to an Xcab or 4 door with a stronger engine. This one had recvd great care, 6 new tires. Just needs a few little things...

I need the hauler to move 10 or so vehicles, 2 are 300 miles away, the rest 10 miles or so, + what an adventure!?!? And I need the dually to move my Case 580E Super excavator, and the 409? Hmmmm... What do I need 3 409's for???

This red one Is a body off resto, no idea about if it's a real 409 or anything. Super nice paint, small amount of bondo on rear 1/4 lips, was originally a lite green turqoise.

It's not an SS, too bad, I really like the buckets and console. If I had my druthers, I'd put in a red SS interior... It's SUPER STRONG, much faster than the other 2, no idea about nothing, but this Impala has a tremec 5 speed. It's really clunky, and the shifter is way too far forward. They all need something... I drove it exactly 3 minutes, it's 450 miles from where I live, another issue to be dealt with... IMG-20190812-WA0027.jpegIMG-20190812-WA0029.jpegIMG-20190812-WA0034.jpeg
