If your ever talk about new production vehicles,
Ford has said by 2022 they will have 40 new vehicles on the market that’s either hi bred or electric in its line-up.
So, that doesn’t look good for anyone in the HOT ROD or RACING.
Sure wonder what going to happen to NASCAR in the future.
Guess the racing sound will go from roar to silence .

I think racing will be fine, it will just be different. There are some super fast electrics out there. And remember when no one would dream of racing a diesel? I am not saying I like it, however like you said Dave, all the OEM are phasing out gas only cars. Volvo is doing it very soon.

Every time a new plan comes up to split up California, I wish it could happen, but it never will. Let them have the coast and leave the rest of us alone.

We once were Conservative, remember your true love Ronald Reagan. It's all the fags from other states, like NY, NJ, PA etc that have moved over here that fxcked things up for us. Native Californians wish you all would go back to where you came from

What is a "native Californian"? :dunno If YOU ALL went back to where you came from, the state would be un-inhabited !!!!!

That's not the way liberalism works. They claim to be the all loving all inclusive, all about the people party. The truth is closer to they will force their opinion, wants, and laws on everyone. They want to make everyone subservient to them. One day, long after it is too late, some people will wake up and realize that the liberals have taken all their money, civil rights, freedom of speech etc. away, all in the name of some utopian society that has never, and will never exist.

What is a native American? :dunno I was born here, am I? Another game played by politics to give lazy people someone else's money because they refuse to educate themselves and work hard. No one owns anything. We as a people or person are just passing through. The so called American Indians ( which I have a lot in me ) were not here first. Science has proven it time and time again. All our extended heritage comes from many things and places. No one has an absolute claim to any place.

We blew a motor years ago at a track in Louisiana but had a spare in our trailer. Only catch was that we had no hoist. We asked the Jegs team if they had one we could borrow. Before we knew it our car was in their pit space with some of their crew helping us. They also wouldn't take our money for whatever miscellaneous gaskets and fluids we used from their trailer. I will always support them.

There has been a move for around 100 years ago to create a new state named Jefferson. It would consist of several Nor Cal counties as well as the southwestern counties of Oregon. It seems Salem is too far north to represent Southern Oregon, and Sacramento is too far south to represent Nor Cal(you don't need Sacramento's help in anything, believe me). This movement has been around a long time, you can read about the proposed state of Jefferson on Wikipedia. Problem I see is that the only thing too many people around those parts do is smoke pot and do meth. Too many tweakers around to suit me. As you head north on the 5 past Yreka and Weed, there's a barn in full view of the 5 with a sign painted on the roof that says The State of Jefferson. One can dream,I guess. Incidentally, the town of Weed was named for a Mr. Weed who founded it a century or so ago. It's not named after the region's gross national product.

The latest "New California" plan more or less splits the state vertically, This is more in line with political and cultural boundaries. The main reason it can't happen is that much of the real economy would be taken away from the liberals on the coast. Oh well, it sounds good.

Oh, and Greg, you are right about Sac and NorCal too.

I'm reading a new book. Actually, it's an old book written by a British gentleman around 1940 named Friederick A. Hayek called the Road to Serfdom. It's not fast reading, but it describes the lure of governmental collectivism on a population, and what the inherent disadvantages of socialism is. Written in 1940, they had a close example of an unfolding scenario in Germany, which was just across the Channel, and they got to see it played out to its inevitable conclusion.Socialism seeks to do just as IMBVSUR? states. It takes far more than it gives. Somehow, the legend of Robin Hood comes to mind as he was reputed to steal from the rich and gives to the poor. California steals from everybody it can any way it can, and nobody but them gets any of it. It owns the poor, blames the successful, polarizes people according to race and class, taxes, fees, and fines the rest of us, and leaves a mess. It seems the socialism, communism, marxism, leninism, all these isms, just don't work. If the perpetrators of this giant fraud can't make it work, what makes later collectivists think they can, either? Sales tax in the Los Angeles County area is 9.5%. Some cities in the county add up to 1/2% on top of that. Gasoline is 3.29 for 87 octane, 3.59 for 91 octane, and fully $1.00 per gallon is tax. Taxes are deceptive, because if a commodity is brought in for resale, it's taxed upon entry. Transportation costs raise it fully, including the previously mentioned fuel taxes, then there's taxes on the payroll of everybody that handles the product to get it to retail market, then there's sales taxes. It's a lot higher than they want to let you know. Another scheme that was on the news recently was the imposition of 3% sales tak on real estate. A house in a decent neighborhood starts at $500,000 or so, what does that do to the real estate market? When is this state's system going to fail, and what will the entitlement class do when the handouts cease and there's nobody else left to print the welfare checks, or a bank open to cash them? Urban rioting seems to be a second occupation to some of them.

P.S. Just reviewed my DMV annual license plate tag fees for last year. Here's a breakdown. 1.1991 Chevy 1500 extended cab PU-$178.00. Commercial license plate required even though it's not for business use. 2. 1990 GMC Suburban 2500 tow vehicle Might get 1000 miles a year put on it since I usually only race locally, $92.00.
3. 2007 Honda Accord(wife's car)$140.00. 4. 2009 Audi T3 wagon(son's car) $131.00,5.1999 Toyota 4 Runner,(daughter's car),144.00. Also, they get me for $10.00 each for my open car trailer, and my 20 ft. Hallmark enclosed trailer. Add that, and you can plainly see that anybody could think of a better place to put that money, like Jeg's, Summit Racing, any 409 part outlet, a gun store, a conservative Christian church, you name it. As government gets bigger, it gets more expensive, less connected with the needs and responsibilities of the people, to gets too much power and control as it tends to usurp ownership of the people, especially when it owns their minds, then it gets increasingly criminal in its own actions. Not a new concept, it was well discussed in Friederick's book.
We need a new Constitutional amendment, both state and federal--"When a government of the people,by the people, and for the people disregards it's people, then by those same people, it shall be abolished". Isn't government supposed to be instituted "with the consent of the governed?"

I don't know who drew up that map, maybe someone from NorCal because it's way off in the SoCal area, can't speak to the NorCal areas. San Bernadino, Riverside, San Diego, Imperial counties are mostly liberal leaning, only Orange county would be mostly conservative. Ventura is also Conservative
Essentially the whole thing is a bunch of BS in my opinion.

San Bernardino County used to be rather prosperous, but about 15 years or so ago, Santa Fe Railway, Norton Air Force Base, and Kaiser Steel pulled up stakes and left the state.Thousands of jobs let the area, and today around 80-85% of the San Bernardino residents are on relief. It's gotten run down, and really dirty. I bought a Honda generator on eBay, local pick up only, and it was sold by a pawn shop on Highland Avenue east of the 15 freeway. I went out there, located the place, and I thought I was in the middle of the scariest ghetto you ever saw, probably because I was! I'm glad I went out there on a Saturday morning early, since the scary ghetto dwellers don't get up before noon, but negative economic consequences of the three largest employers vacating the area were obvious with their very negative residual side effects. Ripe for leftist socialist big government types to step in and lie to the huddled masses, putting them on the dole for the sheer purpose of ownership. Orange County has been resettled by a lot of different people than it was during the '70's and 80's, too. I guess that was too long ago, also.

Facts are facts. The state is poorly run, many cities are broke or getting there and the whole "sanctuary" thing is BS. It doesn't look like we have elected any problem solvers lately.

As I approach 70, I am staying because who wants to uproot now? I am also old enough to remember what it was like in the 50s and early 60s. Best place in the US, maybe.

You younger guys are running the show now. You can try to fix it or live in a 3rd world nanny state shithole, your choice.

Adolf and Joseph did that. Their mantra was Progressivism and National Socialism. The Elite Progressives in Russia, Germany AND America supported them both. Now their mantra is Hitler and Joseph were Conservatives. They never learn from the past.

Absolutely correct.

Most elected today are not worried about fixing anything, they are only concerned with being elected/reelected at any cost.

Hey, leave NY out of it. We have enough of our own homosexuals, transvestites, cross dressers, boys who think they are girls, girls who think they are boys, some who can't tell the difference, lines forming for sex change operations, gay marriages, etc. Every August in Manhattan there is a big parade. You have a chance to see all of the above and it's free. You won't find this on cable tv or in California, Carmine.
