They were talking about Johnny Horton (Battle of New Orleans) on the radio today, I don't remember how he died. I do remember late 50's early 60's listening to all his songs. The discussion was..... Was he....country, western, rock and roll, R&B, rock 'a billy, ballad etc. How would you classify a guy this talented? They didn't say how he died.

A johnny Horton song I remember from my childhood was " Honky Tonk Man". Was popular for many years. Johnny Horton also scored with " When its Springtime in Alaska",,,,, " Johnny Reb" ,, Sink The Bismark" ,, "
North To Alaska " Died in a car wreck NOv 4,1960 traveling from Austin, tx to his home in Shreveport , La.
