I remember in 1969 buying Sunoco 260 for my Nova on Friday night for the coming weekend street racing. It was .48 a gallon when Clark Premium was .36. Worth every penny spent. Oh, and Clark was my station. $2.00 worth of premium gas and a .25 pack of Lucky Strike.

Awesome pics, thanks for posting :).

I remember the "gas wars", wasn't that the late 60s? Gas went down to 21 cents or something like that. Almost in my "affordability range".

Back then having a dollar in your pocket meant you were doing well. I still pick up pennies when I see them on the ground :).

I also ran Sunoco 260 in my '63 09. In '63, it was 34 cents/gal (seem to remember it was a pretty blue that looked good in the glass fuel filter bowl) ; 190 grade was 20 cents.
