Just when you thought you had seen it all....

I have been knee deep in my 62 hardtop's passenger door for about a week. I had to redo my door panel's window sweep fuzzy and sneak in metal edge bands under the existing upholstery. I also added the missing reflector and outer window sweep along with installing new door lock cylinder and missing lock rod and clip. While doing all this, I noticed the window channel at the rear of the door was bent all to hell and back so out it came for straightening. While working the channel over I noticed a shiny round object in the channel. Closer inspection and poking revealed the object to be a Roosevelt dime with 2 edges bent up to fit the width of the channel and contact cemented in place. I think the hillbilly theory was the dime would act like a bearing against the window frame.
Who am I to second guess pure genius. I think I'll keep it in place.
