Here is the next installment on my "W" build

1 Converter cover gets the treatment
2 Trans gets a reseal . Was rebuilt just before the small block took a Cr*p
3 Power brake pedal from Bel/Air parts car and rear crossmember get sandblasted
4 and primered
5 and painted
6 168 tooth flywheel on the right
7 Installed on what I now know is a 348 turboglide crank
8 tranny done waiting for the install
9 Rebuilt starter gets installed
10 Rear tranny mounting plates get installed ( Kit from Danchuk )
11 Closer look of mounting brackets
12 New engine mounting pins (Danchuk) in 6 cylinder position. Steering linkage will get replace by a Pinto Rack & pinion. Very close to the pan now.
13 Front horseshoe mount by Hearst from "Speedway" Notch is for the lower radiator hose to clear
14 Motor finally in car. Very tight against stock steering box., about 1/4 " plenty of room at firewall. My hand fits between the head & firewall. Also very close to upper control arms.3/8" with motor centered in chassis.
15 NOW THAT'S WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT !!!:love:love I chose the chrome valve covers over the cast Edelbrock ones. They went back on the wall. I used #0000 steel wool & toothpaste on the valve covers.I had them in a box under a shelf for years. They are not drippers. More to come:D

Sorry Don, I didn't record the engine build. I gave my machinist 2 348 engines I got from a friend.and told him to give me the best of both worlds. 1 engine was from a '58 Chev passenger car w/a turboglide & the other was from a '63 chev C-80 truck. That one came with the clark 5-speed still attatched. That trans got sent back to the recycler. The crank from the truck engine was garbage but the passenger one was good and only needed to be cut .010. This was the one not cut for a pilot bearing.I got everything he didn't use back with the finished motor. This was the same guy who built my 327 drag engine. The car in my avatar had the 327. I used to race with him at the local tracks here on the island back in the day. Now he runs a very popular engine building shop. "LAWRENCE ENGINEERING" of Westhampton N.Y. The engine got a stock rebuild and a triple angle valve job on a pair of 333 heads. He learned his craft from "Jack Merkle " of "A GAS SUPERCHARGED FAME " 1933 Willys.here on the island.:deal He was Merkle's lead machinist for many years. He always did right by me. I am using the stock manifolds for now but I might go with headers later.

:crazy:cheers

Jim, When my wife & I got together( #2 for both of us ) she was always interested in cars. Took auto mechanics in "Martin Van Buren " High School in Queens N.Y.:clap:clap She was the first girl to take the class & pass it.:clap:clap When I met her she had a '66 Chevelle SS convert/4-speed. It had a Vette 327 at the time. She has been a great help over the years in any project we did. After 36 years she is still a keeper.:love:love
