I'm FINALLY getting off my butt and looking to get this thing going again. 2012 SUCKED right after Thompson until the end of September. ( Bronchial Pneumonia / Bladder Cancer / Broken Hip / blood clot in left lung and 4 weeks of rehab ). Giny is all smiles :love:love. I have it insured by Grundy for $30,000 as is now for $206.00 a year. I'm going to use the original NY plates the car was 1st registered with back in 1957. New York DMV had quite a time tracing back the original registration from when I bought it in 1974. Those '57 plates and registration came to $53.75. That Reggie was from 1966 , when it became a gasser. I stopped racing in 1987.

Hopefully more to follow soon.:crazy:dance:cheers

Sorry Bob , It's been with Giny and I for 40 something years now. NOT FOR SALE !!! My son wants it when I go away to visit the BIG GUY upstairs. Giny told him he better hope that her & I go at the same time. Otherwise he has a very long wait!:D

Glad you are having a better 2012 Butch. You really had a rough year!!! I just got back from seeing a lung specialist for a 2nd opinion. I had been just seeing my family doctor. He did another x-ray....said the pneumonia looked the same as my last x-ray over a week ago....and put me back on the antibiotic the other dr had me on that I finished last night. He said if I'm not any better in another week that it's to the hospital for me. Despite all that, I wouldn't have found the 2 awesome deals I got if not for this stuff. I will finally have the parts to build a 409.

I see my pulmonologist every 6 months for a breathing test to monitor my C.O.P.D. ( emphysema ). My meds work well and I feel great !! I got a pneumonia shot when I was in the hospital for my Bronchial pneumonia. I think the next one is in 7 years.
Thank you every one for the kind words. This and my son's '61 are keeping me very busy ( Finally )
:crazy:dance:cheers

The 57 looks great, but you know I'm biased towards that 61 of your sons!! If I were rich that is all my family would have I bet.

My youngest daughter spotted Tigger on the dash! I'd love to see a picture of that W motor in the 57. All I can see above is the air cleaner. What paint combo do you have planned?

Yes that's it! I Saw the "Got the itch" thread first and also posted there. I passed on the BBC, the car was way to fast with that engine for me. :eek Russ had a 430 c.i. "W" block built by Jim Ruble that I bought with it. What a sweet engine! With the 430 the car runs in the low 10s with a little help from a throttle stop under the gas peddle. Staying out of the 9s keeps me from needing an NHRA license and having the car certified every few years (of course, it's cool to have that 9 second time slip). :no :hide

I wasn't going to say it on here, but that was my exact thought. Okay....except for the bailing you out part. I'm broke. Tell them some nut forgot to hook the throttle stop up. Honest mistake. You don't have to tell them who the nut was....or that it was honestly on purpose.
