Hi Guys, Here is the last of the pictures of my '57 348 build.
These pieces are under the hood.
Hood support rods.
Hood latch bracket.
Hood latch bracket in paint.
Underhood stiffener, goes front to back down the middle if the hood.
Hood latch from the parts car.
Hood latch sandblasted.
Hood latch painted after reconditioning. Rebuilt ones go for $80.00 from Danchuk.
Hood front brace ( side to side)
Hood brace sandblasted.
Brace in prime.
Brace all finished.
Underside of parts car hood( front half)
Underside of hood (rear half )
This is where I stand on my "W" build.Hood needs to be sandblasted, primed & painted and installed on car. Then all the panels will get tweaked for alignment.
I hope you guys enjoyed the pictures of my project. I must say that this project was done at my leisure in my spare time over the years. Everything was done when time & money allowed. I am by NO MEANS an expert at this and everything to date was done with the experience I had at the time. This series of posts were done for your enjoyment and do not in any way suggest this is the way to do this project. There are many others on this site who have done the exact same project ("W" in a tri-5 Chevy ) and all have done the swap their way. My intent was to possibly suggest yet another way to do the swap. I have had a lot of fun doing this project and I don't regret anything I have done so far. I learned a lot from this site and have gained a lot of friends doing so. The project is not done by far. There are lots to do yet. I will post pictures as I continue with the swap. But in the meantime ,life has reared it's ugly head lately and I must back off for a while. No one knows how much I wish I could continue this project but it has been put off for hopefully not long. Thank you guys for letting me share my project with you. I am not done by any means but Health & finances have taken over. I will never go off this site. I have a lot of friends here and cherish their friendship.
