Mini Starter Alignment

Well as an example you have always been able to add a small hole in the bottom. Additionally blow back bar brackets and a 6" x 2" port for adjusting multi disc clutch (es) is quite commen. SFI "cans" need to be recertified at intervals.

The plate behind the flywheel towards the block as well as the scattershield starter pocket make it tough to check. Plus the starter nose itself

Heck the newest mini starter I have on the Pontiac has a nose on it so it is also hard.

I guess test fitting on the engine stand first would be the best way.

You may modify a scattershield, but it will now not be SFI approved. This goes for all SFI approved items. If item is modified in any way from how it was manufactured, the certification is void. Just because you have gotten away with it, does not make it correct. I am only writing this so there is no bad information being passed around.
