It would sure be hard to find another car as nice as yours to restore. I hope you do decide to keep it. :cheers

If i keep it I want to build it to retain its value.
Other than finding a 1961 348 3x2 what type of trans should I use?

Would I lesser its value drastically if I swapped it to a floor shift ? What about a disc brake conversion ?

That car is screaming for a 4-speed !

Disc brakes on the front would be a big improvement for safety, but I'm not sure if it would increase the re-sale value.

Do a FA engine and find a original 4-speed column or a 3-on the tree. The original motor would have been a HA with Torboglide http://www.348-409.com/suffix.html
The disc brakes are not going to hinder the value. Keep all the original parts. Build it...:deal

What are my options for 4 speed transmissions.
I've built a resto-mod 1963 impala already, but i have never done a original build.
Thanks for all the help.

If you want the trany to be original would be BW T-10 iron case aluminum tailshaft.

Why worry about a date coded 4-speed, when the car didn't come with one ?
I'd go with a better trans, if it were me.
Who's going to crawl under the car ?
Just sayin....
