Well, considering that the Olds 403 engine that's in there has a net rating of maybe 200 hp,about 110-115 if you have a long enough road.

No matter what it is, or what it came with, that is one nice ride, and obviously means the world to him and his family, I would love to own it, very respectable street cred on that TA, .....My 64 gets crap all the time, to big, to heavy, not a 1200 HSP car, cant compete in todays market, lol

who cares, I only compete with me and thats enough most days

A 2.41 Posi:dunno What is the top speed of it then?
Our 60 has a 2.75Posi 12 bolt and i dont like it when it gets to the busy end of the speedo
Bit floaty after 110

Steve
Went 70 miles an hour in first gear, 110 miles an hour second gear, third gear buried the needle back to zero , speedometer only goes up to 100 miles an hour .TopSpeed I’m guessing between 135 to 140 Miles an hour .73E75839-1A27-4E26-AC36-7BBA46921E65.jpeg

I have the original built sheet, Bill of sale, salesman‘s business card who sold us the car, all the pamphlets that came in the glove compartment , and the original license plate when my father bought the car . Plus a binder full of receipts, maintenance that was done to the car oil changes etc.

Wow - a trip dpwn memory lane! This looks identical to the one I ordered new in 1977.

I ordered a '77 Special Edition brand new before they were even released. Motor Trend had one on the cover of one of their issues in late 1976 and that, along with the 1st Smokey & the Bandit movie sealed the deal. I had to wage a campaign to convince my wife that we NEEDED to have this car. It was the first Limited Edition to arrive in the Dayton, OH area and I had to shop the dealers to get it ordered. When it arrived, the dealer wanted to keep it on the showroom floor to display it for a few weeks, but I told him that I ordered it and wanted it now. The first thing I did was have the trunk carpeted and install a combo AM/FM/CB radio (it was ordered with a radio delete option). We brought our first child home from the hospital in it, moved from Dayton to San Antonio and then to Long Island. My wife and I drove the H... out of the car and put over 100k miles on it before we sold it in the early '80's. It gave us great adventures and memories. Seeing your car brings back all of those good times. Yours is in fantastic condition. Enjoy it!
