My New Valve Covers

Picked up a pair of Edelbrock valve covers to replace the rusting cheap chrome covers on my 409. I got the basic rough cast set. I sanded the tops of the ribs smooth and powder coated them, then sanded the powder off of the ribs. I think I will coat them with clear powder coat for extra protection and protect the bare aluminum ribs.

Plus it kinda downplays the "Edelbrock" script .

Thanks Tom, I wasn't necessarily trying to downplay the Edelbrock logo, but it was too big of a problem to try and clean or sand the logo. So, I left it as is and now that I see it this way, I think it does look better than polished logo would.

Just clear powder coated the valve covers this morning. Should be easy to keep clean now.

Here is how I solved getting the edelbrock script to show, I use a new razor blade in one of those small scrapers to remove gaskets, it works.
