I finally got some single wheel front hubs for my 57 3/4 ton.

They came from a 1958 1 ton. :)

Everything looks pretty good, but I want to have the drums turned before putting the new shoes in.

I'm being quoted $35.00 each for new seals!
That just cannot be right, if it is, it's time to start the revolution! :deal

I would also like to upgrade the bearings from ball to taper.
As near as I can read it, the old ball bearing inner race is #909545?

If you have the seal part number call one of the local bearing distributors and see if they have another seal for interchange. If the seal is an uncommon seal the cost of low volume components plus the $300 set up charge gets expensive.

NAPA got them for me, still high at $17.00 each.

But they are local, and still HALF the price of the "Low price guarantee" pirates at Kragen! :takethat
