I talked to Ed Anderson the other day. As the conversation went on , he said that after he and Doc Santore sold the "63", they ended up with Don Nicholsons' "62" bubble top. Ed Schartman was the driver. He didn't say who actually owned the car. Anyway. Schartman did a lot of mods to the car. Plexi windows and a number of things to lighten the car. Mods were made to the engine, he didn't say what, but I would guess that some Z-11 parts were added. Schartman takes the car racing with all the Nicholson graphics still intact ,with the Jackshaw name added. and was beating the new Ford an Mercury racers on a regular basis. This would be in "64". Don had switched to Ford by this time. Ford racing division found out about this Chevy ( with all the Nicholson graphics still on it) beating them. The were furious and called Don and demanded that the Nicholson name be removed from the car, or Fords' support would be in jeopardy. Ed didn't say how long they raced that car or what happened to it. By the next year Ed Schartman was driving a Ford product.
