Octane booster

do I need octane booster? I buy 89 octane gas with no ethanol, that's the only gas available in Jacksonville that's ethanol free. I don't get any valve pinging and the motor runs between 180- 190°. I wonder if raising the octane with a booster is needed? The motor is a mild build with 10.5 Speedpro pistons, .30 over, and a 952 Comp cam and Hydraulic lifters,
car motor, no notch.

If in doubt try adding a cup of mercury and a gallon of hydrogen peroxide. :driver if it's good enough for Chris Karamesines it's good enough for any of us.

I use Lucas Octane Booster in my older cars. I put a bottle in every tankful. Does it help?? I think it does, but who really knows. Never had a problem with pinging, but I don't constantly run the cars real hard either. I buy it through Amazon. The highest octane gas in my immediate area is 93 with ethanol. There is a station about 20-25 minutes away that has 91 octane without ethanol. Have never tried it, Carmine.
