Just have some shots of a gentleman taking delivery of his new '68 Impala plain jane stripper with a 427 @ South Tacoma Chevrolet in Tacoma WA in Sept '67. If you see carefully the tach dash shows, wonder if it was an L72 425 HP 427???

Very cool. Ah the days when you could buy a car, any car, especially a big block and not even think about gas mileage. And that was probably his commuter. And then there was the total BS scam of a gas shortage a few years later.

Looks like the building that is now the ProMax dealership that has the Hayden Proffitt car with the z 11 nose on it and the 427 mystery motor in it. I was too young to remember exactly where this was.

No L72 automatics in the full size cars..........this would be the L36, knocked down to 385 from 390 for 1968......
