First car I built for a Chevrolet Dealership. I was 19, on the right. The parts manager I worked for had a son, to my right, all he could afford was this 4 door 57 I talked about before being a 265, 3 speed.
So we got the dealer to sponsor it, .060 265, 2x4’s, 4 speed, 4:88,5:13,5:38 on the street.

Mostly used for Stop Sign Sudden Acceleration tests

This thread got me to looking at some old photos, 57 chev was my first purpose built drag car, 427 Corvette engine, muncie 4-speed, 57 Pontiac rear with 4.56 gear, like Project X out of Popular Hot Rodding mag. I was 19 and my home built slapper bars didn't do much to help plant the 8" Goodyears. Pieced it together the best I knew at the time. No traction, handled terrible. Made only 3 drag strip passes before leaving for induction into army.image.jpegimage.jpeg
