Just read where Onawa Dragway in Iowa is now NHRA sanctioned! I think that speaks highly of the current owner that he’s committed to the track, racers and the community!

Yes that is correct that Onawa Dragway is now NHRA ( it was IHRA).
The current owner “a local racing family” bought out the lease from the local Onawa group that leased the land from the City. The new owners also purchased the land from City who invested over $700,000 in the track on the Cities original paved airport runway.
This new ownership happened after our race at the track.
I think they are paving and graveling the pit area and moving toward 1/4 mile racing.

Good track, very smooth and flat. Was hot as hell when we were there but fun.
