I've seen a few 60-66 chevy/GMC pickups online that they've done the jimmy v-12(twin six)swap they had to stretch the frame and front fenders, and would smoke any tires you could put on it.We rebuilt and modified one while I lived in Va.Fuel line size was 3/8ths.This thing held 15 qts. of oil[stock pan and filter],and weighed 1450 lbs. Most of the v6's weighed right at 750.Lotsa parts from Thunder V12.
I guess that makes the 348-409 the minis doesn't it.I think GMC also made a v8 version of the engine still 60 degree and I think over 600 cubes.I think that the larger versions of those engines were to compete with ford superduty V-8's or vice versa. While the GMC's weren't W's,they did range from 305 cu.ins.all the way up to 478 cu.ins.
Did your marine 409 appear to be more like a truck 409 or pass.car 409?Chris Craft seemed to lean more towards industrial/truck motors for their boats.my 409 came out of a 1964 chris craft boat with reverse rotation.
