I just bought a intake I was going to have it sand blasted (paint is lflaking off a little rust but not bad) and paint it with chevy orange egine paint and shoot it. Also can you remove the splash cover on the bottom? if so How? how would you reattach it? thanks RJ if anyone has a differant or better way i'm all ears.

Should work fine !!!

64409,

You can paint the manifold no problem. You might want to look into getting it powder coated, I had one done for a SB and it held up real well. The biggest problem was finding the powder media to match the Chevy Orange pint I had used.

To remove the shield from the bottom you can use a sharpe chizel to drive them up a little and then pull them out with pliers. Be careful because they are almost impossible to replace. Then just hammer them back in after painting.... :)

Intake Manifold

64409: You might also try POR 15. They make a silver color that resembles aluminum. I've painted manifolds and engines, and this stuff doesn't come off. :clap Skip
