Performance Rear End Used Source Needed

Just one other thought for a 9" the "stock" rear end is a pumpkin style, seeing that rer cover on a 10 or 12 bolt doesn't look stock to me.

I have a stock 28 spline axled 8.5 10 bolt that has alot of 1.5 60 fts on it on a 3750 lb car. You could probably get a 90s GM truck housing CHEAP and cut it to length, weld on bolt in axle retainers(on a jig of course) a 30 spline Eaton posi and good axles and have a heck of an rear end.

But if you can't do that yourself you sometimes spend almost the same as a ready made rear would be!

I used a 1967 Camaro 12 bolt that is the same 60" flange to flange width. A friend took a spare 61 housing and the 12 bolt and swapped the brackets over. The upper bracket was welded to the cast center, but we added a strap or gusset type piece to it that wraps to the tube. It's holding up great so far. If you can find an 8.5 out of a 73 or 74 Nova (Omega, Ventura, Apollo) you will have the correct width rearend also. Those 8.5's are pretty strong.
