Pitman Arm spline

I'm changing from power steering to manual on my 61, having problems with the pitman arm seating on the steering box shaft. Is there a difference in the spline between the manual and power steering pitman arm? Also I understand that the power steering box has a closer ratio than the manual, how can I identify manual vs power box from the exterior? Thanks Larry

AZ,
Pitman arm splines are the same. Manual and power box ratios are different and I don't think you can tell the difference from the exterior, at least I couldn't.

63 and 64 are different from what I learned during my 605 conversion on my 60.

AZ, I dug up a little more info for you

................................................................................................................................

Group 6.859 ARM, Pitman
58-62 Pass., 63-64 Pass., w/P/S...........3741383 (forged 3741383).

63-64 Pass., (exc. P/S)..............3820345 w/stud (forged 3820407).

So all full size 58-62 (with and without power steering), and full size 63-64 (with power steering) have the same pitman arm.

................................................................................................................................

59-63 P/S box.........5673149
59-63 Manual Box...5674333

Hope this helps a little,
Rusty
