Hi. I've been lurking around this site, from time to time, since I first bought a 1964 Impala 409/340hp back in 2008. It is essentially an original car with a 700 R4 replacing the original Powerglde, one paint in 2005 and new seat covers in 2017. It's pretty well loaded with factory air, 6 way power seat, tilt column, etc. and all are original as proven by the build sheet found under the rear seat carpet. It just turned over 51,000 miles at the end of the Summer. I always assumed that just having an enjoyable driver didn't really qualify me to join your site, since I don't really do a lot of 'tear down' or modification work. From having many of the forum posts over the years I almost feel as if I know some of you that post frequently.
I recently realized that ever since the Beach Boys released their 409 song I have had a 'dual quad, positraction, 409' on my bucket list. So ... last Wednesday (December 19th) I took delivery of my 1962 Impala 409/409hp. I don't have much history on it, but it's been restored with a couple of upgrades (alternator; dual master; Muncie M21), but retains its original 'charm' (which is exactly what I wanted - a nice good quality driver I could enjoy).
I have already learned many valuable things from reading your posts and looking up reference information on the site, and I'm looking forward to gaining much more knowledge going forward.
Thanks for allowing me to join your group. Merry Christmas to all!

Thanks, everyone, for your welcome comments. I'm looking forward gaining a lot more knowledge about 348/409 from this site. Hopefully I will have an opportunity to make it to one of your events and meet a few people in person some day.

Welcome! After a while you will get used to the slightly warped personalities that reside here.
