question on hole

I have a hole on the underside of the hood, on my 61 impala
I was at a show this last weekend, and their were two other 61 impala's there
I noticed that the bottom side of their hood 's did not have this hole, and did not look like they had been filled in

the hole in my hood is app. 1 in. across

was this for a light ?

the hole is located in the middle of the x brace bottom side of hood

it is a stamped hole looks like it came from the factory this way

this hood org. was on a 4 door sedan with a lot of options on the car

if it was for a light, does any one have one they want to sell ??

I have a couple of '61 hoods, I checked....none have the hole that you are decribing nor have I ever seen one with it.

Same thing here no hole in my 61 hood. I've got to believe Bob Walker on this one

No hole on here. I looked at six others and no hole in any. Although I did find a picture of this 61' that did have a hole in the hood...

I had a firewall hole and a couple of fender holes where the tach stuff was. I gave up being creative and finally just put electrical tape over them.
